Brad Hompe’s Corrections Experience Serves Everyone Well

One reason Brad Hompe is acknowledged by many in the prison industry as an expert is because he has a lot of experience in the field. However, almost as important is his level of education, which is quite extensive. It started with Brad earning a Bachelor’s Degree in criminal justice and psychology from Winona State University in Minnesota and following that with a Master’s Degree in Public Administration (MPA), which he obtained from the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh. He didn’t just stop with formal academics, however. He went on to gain law enforcement certifications from Chippewa Valley Technical College in Wisconsin and Alexandria Technical College in Minnesota and he has a Firefighter I Certification from Southwest Technical College in Wisconsin.

However, while Brad Hompe’s education is impressive, it is his experience that sets him apart as an acknowledged expert in prison operations. He has shown great skill as he has developed and implemented many corrections programs, but Brad Hompe also has himself provided a wide range of services in prisons and jails throughout Wisconsin and nationwide. He has worked as a prison staff employee, as well as a jail inspector, an instructor and trainer.

Throughout his tenure with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections (WI-DOC), Brad Hompe has performed nearly every job that is done at every level of the prison and jail environment. He worked his way up through the ranks, for example. He began as a corrections officer, sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, unit manager and deputy warden and, eventually, warden. Brad Hompe currently serves WI-DOC as aa Corrections Complaint Examiner and Investigator, and he is there because he knows exactly what he’s doing.
