These days, Brad Hompe’s career has him working as a Corrections Complaint Examiner and Investigator for the Wisconsin Department of Corrections (WI-DOC), but that is just the latest stage of a long and storied career. Brad has worked at every level of the corrections system on his way there, including time as warden eventually, although he worked his way up the chain, starting as a corrections officer, a sergeant, a lieutenant, a captain, a unit manager and a deputy warden all along the way.
Over the course of his career, Brad Hompe has managed to acquire a lot of experience in the field of jails and corrections, but before that he managed to get a great education. Throughout his time with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections (WI-DOC), Brad Hompe has performed virtually every job there is to do in a prison environment at one time or another. That is primarily due to his attempts to work his way through the ranks, starting as a corrections officer, sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, unit manager and deputy warden and, eventually, warden. Besides having skill when it comes to leading the development and implementation of many types of corrections programs, Brad Hompe also has provided a wide range of services in prisons and jails throughout Wisconsin and nationally.
Among Brad Hompe’s specialties include jail and prison planning and design, policy development of all kinds, such as use of force, development and implementation of training and evaluation policies and procedures, as well as incident management. Brad also has expertise in areas like jail and prison food service, sanitation and maintenance, classification and supervision and even fire safety.
